Rota do Atum Festival 2026

10-04-2023

The Rota do Atum Festival returns to Porto Santo next month, and once again we are proud to be associated with this event that celebrates one of the most iconic products of Madeira’s seas: tuna.

From June 3rd to 6th, 2026, Porto Santo will once again host a unique gastronomic and cultural experience, bringing together chefs, industry professionals, and lovers of fine cuisine around the tradition and excellence of the tuna that comes from our waters.

Organized by the Vila Baleira Resort, the Rota do Atum Festival has established itself as a regional reference, promoting not only the gastronomic richness associated with this species, but also the value of the fishing industry and all the professionals connected to the sea.

Over the course of four days, visitors will be able to enjoy cooking workshops, talks, tastings, and themed dining experiences specially designed to highlight the versatility and quality of tuna. The program combines tradition and innovation, showcasing different ways to prepare and appreciate this product that is so characteristic of our region.

Ilhapeixe is proud to be part of this initiative, reinforcing its commitment to promoting regional seafood products and supporting the fishing sector in Madeira. As a company dedicated to the processing and commercialization of seafood products, we believe in the importance of supporting events that bring the public closer to maritime culture and the quality of local products. We invite everyone interested to attend our talk, “Sustentabilidade & Mar – A importância do atum”, on June 6th at 10 AM.

The Autonomous Region of Madeira represents a significant share of Portugal’s national tuna fishing quota, with Porto Santo being one of the areas included in the natural migratory route of this species. The Rota do Atum Festival therefore plays an important role in promoting this maritime and gastronomic heritage.

If you appreciate the sea, tradition, and fine cuisine, make sure to save the date: the Rota do Atum Festival awaits you in Porto Santo.
